About PDF Editor

PDF Editor is designed for practical corrections to existing PDF files. Click selectable text to cover the original wording and place corrected text in the same area, or add new text, whiteout areas, images and stamps.

Common use cases

Make lightweight page edits

Use the editor for supported online PDF changes when you do not want to upload the document to a remote editing service.

Prepare a document before sharing

Apply the editor's supported page or content operations and export a new working copy.

Combine with other PDF tools

Edit a PDF first, then use related Zavilo tools for signing, watermarking, splitting or other supported document workflows.

How it works

1

The browser loads the PDF structure and renders the document for interactive editing.

2

Supported edits are applied to an in-memory working copy rather than modifying your original file in place.

3

When you export, Zavilo creates a new PDF containing the supported changes.

Privacy & file handling

PDF editing is designed around local processing

The supported PDF editing workflow works with the document in the browser, reducing the need to transmit the original file to an editing server.

Limitations and important notes

  • A browser PDF editor is not a full replacement for every feature of desktop publishing or professional prepress software.
  • Complex forms, signatures, unusual fonts, embedded media or damaged PDFs can behave differently.
  • Keep the original PDF until you have verified the exported result.

Tips for better results

  • Small corrections such as names, dates, numbers and spelling changes work best when the replacement text is similar in length to the original.
  • The cover color is sampled from the PDF preview when existing text is selected, and can be changed manually for colored document backgrounds.
  • Use Cover Area when you want to hide content without adding replacement text.

Frequently asked questions

Does this directly rewrite the original PDF text objects?

The editor visually replaces selected text by covering the original area and placing the corrected wording in the same position. This makes common corrections predictable across many PDFs.

Can I correct Korean text in a PDF?

Yes. Replacement text is rendered so Korean and other supported writing systems can be placed into the edited PDF.

Can I add a stamp or image?

Yes. Add a PNG, JPG or WebP image, then move and resize it on the PDF page before downloading.
